Sebastian Sommer has had a busy year. With 2025 coming to an end, Sommer has gone deep into game development mode. He spoke with us about his
upcoming game Eclipse Town.
What games are you currently playing?
I finished replaying Final Fantasy VII. I just started playing Grim Fandango. I’m going to check out this game Deadly Premonition next. I also just watched this series called Welcome to the N.H.K. It’s hilarious and underrated.
How do you feel about Dragon a year later?
I’m proud of what I made. I proved to myself that I could do it. I thought about whether to make a sequel to Dragon. If I were to continue the story, I would want to mix live action sequences with AI. It just doesn’t seem worth it to me at this point.
You quit filmmaking?
Yeah. I’m making video games. I’m working on a game called Eclipse Town through my production company. It’s about a detective in the 1980s that gets sent to a mysterious town to find a woman that has gone missing.

You also mentioned a graphic novel?
I’m working on a graphic novel based on Eclipse Town. I have skills with drawing and I haven’t made a comic book before. It’s something I want to make with the game that can work as a companion piece but also as its own thing. Other than that, I like spending time with my girlfriend. I don’t have time for much else.
What about the soundtrack?
I’m really excited to make the soundtrack for Eclipse Town. Music has always been a huge part of why I love games. The soundtracks from the games I grew up with left a massive impression on me.
Any closing statements?
Google is a joke. IMDB is a joke. They keep putting projects near my name from years ago that I want nothing to do with. But that’s the internet. I’ll be over here making games instead.
